Mandala Experiments came out of the desire to connect through art without our usual in-person interactions during the Coronavirus pandemic. These are inspired by Tibetan Sand Mandalas where monks create sacred circle designs out of colored sands, all the while imbuing them with blessings for peace and healing. The ritual itself is a sort of meditation on compassion. The mandalas are then swept up and distributed into a moving body of water where the consecrated particles can spread through out the world. We could all use a few blessings during this time. Join me in creating these home-made mandalas with whatever you have on hand and tag to #mandala_experiments on Instagram.
